Description

This purse features a rectangular front with rounded corners, typical of the early 20th century, with a rigid structure and a double-ball clasp partially visible at the bottom. The front is adorned with an applied brass plaque, finely worked in relief, depicting three female figures in a style clearly evocative of Art Nouveau. The flowing drapery, graceful posture, and sinuous lines are characteristic of this artistic movement, where nature and femininity were often celebrated.

The decorative plaque shows a beautiful golden contrast against a darker metallic background, adding relief to the composition. The female figures are harmoniously arranged, with one in the center appearing to raise an arm while the other two accompany her in a choreographed movement. The rest of the front surface reveals a distinct patina, with traces of oxidation and small stains, attesting to the object's age.

On the right side, the purse's original fabric is partially visible, worn and frayed, revealing a beige or light texture. No pattern or inscription is legible on the metallic part of the visible face. The rivets and metal structure suggest a solid construction, suitable for daily use at the time of its production.

The overall style, with the brass plaque featuring a feminine motif and curved lines, strongly evokes Art Nouveau, an artistic movement that dominated the decorative arts in Europe between 1890 and 1910. Second-hand item sold as is. Shows traces of patina, oxidation, fabric wear on the right side, and visible signs of use on the front. The brass decoration remains clear and well-defined in relief.
