This illustrated philatelic envelope corresponds to a First Day issue dated September 9, 1972, dedicated to the Sologne region and its emblematic fauna. The visible side features a color image of a majestic stag in an undergrowth, beneath the captions "SÉRIE TOURISTIQUE" (TOURIST SERIES) and "PAYSAGE DE SOLOGNE" (SOLOGNE LANDSCAPE). This type of envelope is known as an "FDC" (First Day Cover), used to commemorate the official release of a stamp.

The cancelled stamp bears a First Day postmark "SOLOGNE / PREMIER JOUR / 9 SEPT. 1972 / 41 ROMORANTIN" with a depiction of a stag, confirming the regional philatelic issue.
