Description

This official philatelic presentation, designed for the Postal Museum, highlights the printing process of a French postage stamp dedicated to a work by Georges de La Tour. Protected in a plastic sleeve, it features three different vignettes: on the left, an intaglio print proof (red and yellow hues, stylized representation), in the center, the finalized 1.00 F postage stamp in black and white, and on the right, a color print. The ensemble is arranged on a white cardboard backing, with inscriptions printed in black: "Pour le MUSÉE POSTAL" (For the POSTAL MUSEUM), "Pièce d'impression du Timbre-Poste Le Nouveau N° de Georges de la Tour" (Print piece of the Postage Stamp "Le Nouveau N°" by Georges de la Tour), as well as technical indications for each image.

The central stamp, of great delicacy, bears the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and "POSTES 1,00 F", and reproduces a detail of a work by Georges de La Tour, a famous 17th-century painter. The other two vignettes illustrate the printing stages, with a monochrome version on the left and a colorized version on the right, allowing one to appreciate the progress of philatelic printing work.

The ensemble is presented in a transparent sleeve, ensuring the preservation of the backing and the vignettes. The reverse side is not visible in the photo; only the front side is described here. A handwritten price "20 F" appears in the lower right corner of the backing, as well as the inscription "DES TIMBRES-POSTE - PARIS".

The dominant colors are black, white, red, and yellow, with a sober and didactic graphic composition, typical of philatelic presentations intended for museum mediation or technical demonstration.

The texts are clear and legible, and the overall condition of the backing appears very good, with no apparent defects on the visible side. The backing is rigid and the ensemble is well-preserved in its original plastic sleeve.
