Lot of four visible postage stamps, mounted on a black-framed album page. These stamps are from Tangier and Morocco, including both postage stamps and a revenue stamp, all postmarked. Each example presents a distinct configuration, color, and design, characteristic of 20th-century philately in this region.

The first stamp, top left, is blue-grey, with the inscription "TANGER 1c MAROC" in capitals, framed by a classic ornament. The second, top right, displays a purple hue and the inscription "TANGER 2c MAROC," with a similar design, featuring botanical details and clearly legible face value.

In the center, the "CHIFFRE TAXE 1 CENTIME TANGER MAROC" stamp stands out with its black typographic style on a white background, adorned with a geometric frame and precise inscriptions. This type of stamp was used for postage or specific postal taxation in the Tangier area.

At the bottom of the page, the fourth stamp, reddish-brown, depicts an orientalist scene: two palm trees, a character, and local architecture, with the inscription "MAROC" and a face value of 15c. This stamp bears a partially legible postmark, adding to its authenticity and thematic interest.

The graphic details, period fonts, and presence of bilingual inscriptions highlight the Franco-Moroccan influence on regional philately. Perforated edges are visible on each stamp. The original backing (album sheet) is in apparent good condition, with a perforation on the left (binder hole).

Condition These stamps are used and show signs of cancellation. The overall condition is good for stamps of this period, with still vibrant colors and clear designs. Some signs of wear or handling are visible, particularly on the perforated edges, without any major tears observed.

Did you know? Tangier enjoyed a unique international status between 1923 and 1956, which led to the issuance of specific stamps bearing the inscription "TANGER" and used exclusively in this zone. Revenue stamps were used to regularize insufficiently franked mail or to collect specific postal duties.
