Description

This 45 rpm vinyl features a black and white photograph of Cora Vaucaire on the cover, accompanied by stylized graphics with a black staircase on a sea-green background. The main title, "la complainte de la butte," is clearly legible at the top of the sleeve, followed by "par Cora Vaucaire" in pink. The graphic style, typical of 1950s-60s French chanson, highlights the singer with a clean and elegant composition.

The sleeve also indicates the presence of the tracks "FREDE," "RETOUR A MONTMARTRE," and "ROSE BLANCHE," grouped in a pink box on the right, with mentions of orchestral direction by M. Philippe-Gérard and Georges Van Parys. The Pathé logo, at the bottom right, confirms the record label, with the reference "45 EG 162" clearly visible. The typography and layout are representative of the graphic aesthetic of French chanson from the post-war period.

The record is presented in its original sleeve, the visible side of which shows no major tears, although there are some slight signs of wear and small marks at the top of the cardboard, typical of an object that has survived several decades. The colors remain contrasting, with a play of black, green, and pink, giving the whole a retro and recognizable style.

The front of the sleeve highlights the notoriety of Cora Vaucaire, an emblematic figure of French chanson, and mentions the included tracks, allowing for quick identification of the record's musical content. No other decorative elements are visible on this side, the composition being centered on the portrait and the stylized staircase.

The 45 rpm format is confirmed by the inscription "45 EG 162" and the Pathé logo. This type of record is generally used for French chanson singles or EPs.
