Description

This 45 rpm vinyl record features a retro-style sleeve, typical of 1960s pop productions. The front cover displays a black and white photograph of Sandie Shaw, sitting barefoot on a minimalist tubular armchair, in a relaxed pose characteristic of the era's pop aesthetic. To the right, a turquoise vertical band highlights the name "Sandie Shaw" in multicolored capital letters (pink, yellow, blue, and orange), accompanied by the phrase "Chante en français" (Sings in French) in white on a blue background.

The tracklist also appears on this band: "Pourvu que ça dure (Long live love)", "Parler d’amour (Talk about love)", "Tous les jours (Gotta see my baby)", and "Rien n’empêchera l’amour (I’ll stop at nothing)". The original English titles are indicated in smaller font beneath each French title. The pink PYE label logo on a blue background is visible at the bottom right, along with the reference PNV. 24139, indicating a French edition.

The overall visual of the sleeve is meticulously crafted, with an alternation of bright colors and black and white, typical of 1960s pop graphic design. The geometric and colorful typography of the artist's name immediately catches the eye. No date is visible on the shown side, but the convergence of visual elements and Sandie Shaw's fame allow this item to be attributed to the 1960s period.

The 45 rpm vinyl record is not visible in the photo (only the front cover is shown), but it is clearly a standard 7-inch single or EP, as suggested by the reference and presentation. The sleeve shows visible signs of wear on the upper left part, with scuff marks and slight paper alteration, without compromising the readability of the visual or inscriptions. The edges appear to be generally in good condition, with no major visible snags on this side.

The colors of the side band (blue background and multicolored lettering) are well preserved. The inscriptions are perfectly legible. The graphic style, the presentation of the titles, and the PYE logo are consistent with licensed French pop productions from that decade.

Condition

Used item sold as is. Slight scuff marks and signs of wear visible on the sleeve (particularly on the upper left area). Colors remain vibrant and text perfectly legible on the visible side.

Did you know? Sandie Shaw was one of the first British singers to record her greatest hits in French for the French market, a common strategy in the 1960s for Anglophone artists. The PYE label, founded in London, largely contributed to the dissemination of British pop in continental Europe.
