Description

Vinyl record visible in the photo, illustrated with a predominantly red cover featuring a graphic image of a frightened woman, typical of horror movie posters. The inscription "Musiques de Films d’Horreur et de Catastrophes" (Horror and Disaster Film Music) dominates the top of the cover, accompanied by a list of iconic titles from the genre: The Exorcist, The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno, Young Frankenstein, Earthquake, Jaws. The cover presents a contrasted visual effect, with a play of white and red textures, evoking the visual codes of 70s-80s horror cinema.

The upper right corner displays the MFP logo, a label known for its thematic compilations. In the lower right, the mention "Geoff Love et son orchestre" (Geoff Love and his orchestra) specifies the musical interpretation. The typography of the word "HORREUR" (HORROR) uses a dripping black effect, reinforcing the graphic atmosphere related to the cinematic genre. No details are visible on the condition of the record or the back of the cover, only the front side is shown.

The visible surface of the cover shows slight wear on the lower right corner, with a white mark and a small snag, typical of a vintage used record. No other major defects are identifiable in the photographed area.

The visual is in the tradition of film music compilations, particularly popular for their ability to bring together cult themes from several major works. The graphic style and the choice of films suggest an edition produced around the late 70s or early 80s, without being able to guarantee the precise year without other visible information.

The presentation against a backdrop of festive modern decor (blurred Christmas ornaments in the background) does not affect the description of the vinyl itself.

Condition

Used item, sold as is, visible in the photo. Cover with signs of wear on the lower right corner, front surface otherwise in good apparent condition.

Did you know? Geoff Love was a renowned British conductor and arranger, having signed numerous thematic compilations for the MFP label, including several albums dedicated to popular film music in the 1970s and 1980s. The MFP label ("Music for Pleasure") widely distributed these albums across Europe, making instrumental adaptations of great film themes accessible to a wide audience.
